Given its temperate climate and large expanses of unspoilt coastline, Western Australia’s lifestyle is largely oriented towards the outdoors. This provides for a healthy, relaxed and informal way of life with many Western Australians making their home by the sea.  Sailing, swimming, surfing and fishing are just a few of the recreational activities many Western Australians enjoy.

The capital city Perth was ranked equal fifth in one recent study, that looked at the best cities in the world to live and work. Located on the banks of the Swan River, Perth is characterised by waterways, green parks and a compact city centre. Apart from the metropolitan area there are nine regional areas which offer a variety of lifestyles.  All of these regional areas also border the coastline.
